Welcome to Garnvärk
Garn means yarn in Danish – and värk means a plant, as in electricity plant or manufacturing plant. Hence, garnvärk in as place, where something with yarn happens and is transformed.
In Garnvärk you’ll find quality yarn from Danish producers along with knitting patterns and accessories. The shop is open Tuesday-Friday from 10-17:30 and Saturday from 10-14. You can also visit our shop every Wednesday from 17:30-21:30 when we meet for community knitting. Every one is welcome – language is not an obstacle here.
We will happily help you with finding a project that matches your experience in knitting or crocheting, and can of course provide English patterns through international websites. Even a few Danish knit designers publish their patterns in English.
So much more than a castle
Fredensborg is full of nice things to do and see. When you visit don’t cheat yourself for stroll in Jernbanegade, where you’ll find a local bookshop, several fashion shops and homestyle shops with flowers, accessories and all sorts of design for your home.
You should also visit the local library or maybe you are lucky to be in town just when Foody Fredensborg has one of their pop up dinners open to everyone.
